I’m a mother of three amazing kids and we live in The Netherlands. I have been an entrepreneur and blogger for many years. And oh, have I dabbled in it all when it comes to finding ways to make money! And now I want to share my experience with you! I believe specifically in authenticity, transparency, and good education.

It’s kinda funny because I have a crazy career path! But it all combines perfectly with where I am today.

It all started when I worked in a pharmacy until I had my first son. After that, I wanted to do something I could combine with having a baby, so I started selling cosmetics in the evenings. This was the first time I made my own money with my own side hustle! I liked being in control of my own working hours and income.

That made me decide to start a business that would generate more income, so I started working in real estate as soon as my now 3 kids got older. I eventually became the manager of the franchise, which gave me a great feeling of achievement! Great income, nice car, we bought a second home, hence, life was good! Then the crisis hit, here in the Netherlands, and it all fell apart. 

Around this time my whole life changed. Unfortunately, I ended up working for a boss again, 5 days a week in a job I didn’t really like. I also ended up in a divorce, and soon after that, I had a burnout. I knew I needed to make some serious changes in my life if I ever wanted to be happy again and keep taking care of my kids the best way possible.

All in all, I found out that entrepreneurship is one of the things I truly love doing, and I managed to find the perfect combination: I now only work for a boss 2 days a week, in a place where I enjoy working and feel respected. This part-time job gives me plenty of time to work on my online business and this blog. I now have enough income for me and my family this way, and above all, enough time to enjoy life and travel when I want. Finally, my life was sparkling again! I’m a big fan of Thailand and Asia, I love to go there every year for at least 1 month.

I started traveling in Thailand alone in 2016, and two years ago, surprisingly while I was traveling solo, I met the love of my life in Bangkok. We were on the same biking tour (as many Dutchies do when visiting Bangkok) and eventually, we ended up traveling together after that day. It was the best vacation ever! We have been together ever since, and he shines up my life.  I especially love our story of how it all once began, whereas we would never have met each other here in The Netherlands.

In 2019 I started my first blog, and I started in the digital space in March 2024, and now I’ve started this blog website too. To share everything I have learned over the years. A perfect combination!

I started Bosslady Ingrid to help others with starting a business and making money online. In this blog, I’m documenting my path to financial freedom. Having truly experienced the pain and struggle of living paycheck to paycheck, and not having any money for travel, I was deeply motivated to make this work. I’ve been able to break free from a job that I was not happy at, and now enjoy a flexible schedule, and live life on my own terms.

I’ve had a blog before, two actually, and because I didn’t know the right skills, it took me forever to get it going. I learned from my mistakes! I was a total beginner with NO tech and NO writing experience. Now, I want to help you start your side hustle or blog from scratch and live life with a purpose. I’m not an expert, what I write about are my experiences and I would love it if you want to follow me on my journey. I hope you can learn from my mistakes (so you don’t have to make them yourself and lose a lot of precious time) and learn from my wins, so you can do it the correct way right from the start.
